Surpassing even the famous turquoise coasts of the Maldives, Bora Bora, Croatia, and Greece, it was Pasqyra Beach, also known as Mirror Beach in Albania, which revealed itself as the top spot for the world’s bluest water. A hidden gem indeed!
Despite this surprise, Greece remained a dominant contender, securing five spots in the top ten and seven in the top thirty. With its mix of enchanting islands and coastal retreats, such as Paralia Mpouka, Voulisma Beach, and Omprogialos, it’s clear why Greece continues to draw in travelers and recently passed the ‘Beach Bill’ to protect it’s popular beaches.
The study showed a strong showing for Europe overall, with European beaches claiming all top ten positions and making up 26 of the top 30. Other notable mentions include destinations in Bulgaria, France, Montenegro, and even Scotland, all claiming spots in the top 30.
